ComparinG Art & Music to the work of W. H. Davies
"Amber Waves" by Erin McCarley is one of the alternative artist's most popular singles. I chose this song because it includes wonderful imagery to several elements in nature, a key feature in the work of W. H. Davies and other eco-poets. The rhythm and vocals make the song very pretty and enjoyable to listen to.

"Strawberry Fields Forever" is a very popular single by The Beatles, an English rock band that took American music and culture by storm in the late 1960's. This song was written by John Lennon out of nostalgia for his childhood home. Davies often shows his love for the rustic, earthy landscapes of England, which is where he lived much of his life, throughout several of his poems. The imagery is very simple but depicts a peaceful scene of nature, which is why I think it's perfect for eco-poetry.
The music video to the left is to the song "The Only Place" by the L.A.-native band Best Coast, one of my favorite bands. I selected this song to go on a site dedicated to the poetry of Davies because it is all about Best Coast's favorite place in the world, Los Angeles, California. Davies always wrote about the scenery and the landscape that surrounded his life in the English countryside. He loved the simplistic cottages and farms from his homeland, and this song translates amazingly as they are singing about their favorite aspects of their home on the West Coast.
